TECAR Therapy In St. Petersburg and Tampa For Pain Relief & Recovery

Accelerate Healing, Reduce Pain, and Boost Circulation at Alliance Regen & Rehab

TECAR (Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive) Therapy is a breakthrough technology used to speed up recovery and reduce pain by delivering radiofrequency energy into your tissue — stimulating blood flow, promoting cellular repair, and relieving inflammation.

At Alliance Regen & Rehab, we use TECAR Therapy to help active adults, athletes, and post-surgical patients heal faster and move better — without relying solely on medications or passive treatments.

Looking for a faster way to heal soft tissue injuries, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain? TECAR Therapy can help.

What is TECAR Therapy?

TECAR (Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive) Therapy is a breakthrough technology used to speed up recovery and reduce pain by delivering radiofrequency energy into your tissue — stimulating blood flow, promoting cellular repair, and relieving inflammation. TECAR Therapy uses high-frequency electrical currents to stimulate internal heat within muscle and connective tissue — without causing damage or discomfort. This energy improves blood flow, oxygenation, and tissue regeneration.

There are two primary modes:

  • Capacitive Mode – targets superficial soft tissue (muscles, fascia)

  • Resistive Mode – reaches deeper structures (ligaments, tendons, joint

Combined, they create a powerful treatment for pain relief, faster healing, and enhanced mobility.

At Alliance Regen & Rehab, we use TECAR Therapy to help active adults, athletes, and post-surgical patients heal faster and move better — without relying solely on medications or passive treatments.

What to Expect From a TECAR Session?

Each session can last between 10–30 minutes depending on the treatment area and goal of the session.

  • You may feel a pleasant warming sensation — most patients find it relaxing
  • You may also feel a light electrical feeling during the Hi-Tens setting which uses electrical stimulation to help reduce pain.
  • When using the the EMS setting, patients can feel their muscles actually contract, which is generally used to help excite the muscle, help with activation, and aid in fluid movement.
  • It’s non-invasive and has no downtime

  • Often paired with soft tissue work or movement training in the same session

Patients can expect to receive other treatments in conjunction with TECAR Therapy. For instance, we’ve found that using TECAR Therapy after Dry Needling can enhance results.

No — TECAR works deeper and more efficiently, stimulating blood flow and healing at the cellular level.

TECAR Therapy

  • Uses high-frequency radio waves to generate internal heat within deep tissues

  • Works through capacitive and resistive energy transfer, which improves blood flow, oxygenation, and cellular regeneration

  • Stimulates deep muscle, tendon, and joint healing without discomfort

  • Helps reduce pain, stiffness, inflammation, and post-injury swelling

  • Can be used during both acute injury and chronic pain phases

Feels like: a soothing internal warmth with no electrical buzzing
Used for: speeding up healing, improving mobility, reducing inflammation

Ultrasound Therapy

  • Uses sound waves to heat tissue and increase local circulation

  • Typically only reaches superficial muscle layers

  • Often used in older or passive treatment models with limited long-term benefit

  • Evidence shows that ultrasound has no real benefit.
